This is an update concerning our current situation as of July 29, 2013, following the important damages caused to our Park during the July 19th storm.
We plan on re-opening the Park with limited access on August 3, 2013. This will give you access to 1/3 of our walking trails including the trail that leads to the waterfalls. You will also be able to witness the intense damage the storm has left in the kid’s obstacle course.
The following aerial activities will be available: 2 breathtaking Giant Canyon Zip lines and the exciting Via Ferrata (type of rock climbing for every level of difficulty). Please consult our website to see videos and get information on these activities. A new list for packages and prices will be available in the next few days. www.chutescoulonge.qc.ca
There are two ways of helping the Park rebuild: Participate in the Pull Together fundraiser organised by Esprit Rafting and HorizonX (Rafting and corn roast with musical guests AMBUSH) at Esprit, on August 5 AND participate at the Volunteer/Media Day on August 9th from 1pm to 4pm, to help with clean up efforts at the Chutes and for the announcement of our Re-opening to the media. Please consult our Facebook page for more info on these events or by phone (1-888-683-2770 ext. 223) to register to the fundraiser as a participant or as a sponsor.
We would like to thank the population for the support received to this day.
Chutes Coulonge Management
Come discover the Chutes Coulonge park; in beautiful Pontiac county, and experience history, culture and adventure in the great outdoors!
Our site is perfect for a day with friends, family, groups, team building and corporate training.
Our children's aerial adventure activities include a 100 m challenge course suspended in the trees, featuring 13 obstacle activities to delight and test your child's balance and dexterity. Challenges include a 25 m zip line, ropes course, suspended barrels, bridge jumps, line walks and a toboggan slide. In addition to the aerial course we have a low ropes course with 13 obstacles available for all ages. For those little ones who are not quite up to the height or weight requirements of the children's aerial course, there are play structures dedicated to 5 years old or less.
A fun activity for youth and adults is our 280m long, 20 m high, 8 zip series. This activity will allow you to feel the wind in your face and experience the excitement of zip lining! If this activity is not for you, no problem, visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of those brave adventurers, with their feet "rmly planted on the ground. The course is visible as you walk around our park.
Test your adventurous spirit on our giant zip line crossing 245 m down the white water canyon. This adventure is not for the faint of heart and depending on the season 'you will zip over high water or nothing but rocks.' The Via Ferrata; Latin for iron roads, is a secure rock climb format perfect for the beginner to the expert. It is one of 10 in Canada and the only one in the Outaouais region.
Challenge yourself and climb 500 m up our canyon towards the waterfall, and mount the rock wall that once anchored the historic wooden log slide built in the 1840's during the log drive. The Via Ferrata trail allows beautiful views of our park's nature, the rock canyon and our waterfall. It is a unique experience that will challenge you and one you will not forget.
